Foundation for New Nigeria(FANN) leader, Sampson Uchenna Charles conferred post humous Award on Kano’s most outstanding political timber and caliber, Alhaji Aminu Kano On Monday 3rd of October 2022, at Abuja. Mr Sampson, extolled the late politician and nationalist who is known and respected for his frontline anti colonial activities and for propounding a well embraced ideology of unity, peace and total gender inclusion is politics.
The FANN Leader, made this known on Monday during the maiden edition of Aminu Kano Lecture and award ceremony held at Merit House, Maitama Abuja.
He said, the only way a new Nigeria would be possible is when the current and upcoming politicians in the country will reverse back to Aminu Kano”s virtuous political ideology that revolutionized the youths, which prompted young minds to form Northern Elements Progressive Union (NEPU) .
Aminu Kano’s daughter, Hajia Aminat, was on ground with other siblings and the grand Children to receive the award on behalf of the late political sage.
Sampson Charles said, he was attracted to fact that Aminu Kano, fought for the emancipation of the commoners in the Northern region, he introduced the ideology to the entire country to save Nigeria through his political party, the people’s Redemption Party (PRP).
Uchenna Charles added, that, that as Nigeria is presently marked, the rate of societal abyss by those in government and political class has led to the massive oppression and exploitation of the people”
He said, “A new Nigeria is very possible, but first, we must realize that Nigeria first , before our personal interests. That was a virtue that distinguished this political Icon (Aminu Kano) we now celebrate.
The Founder of Foundation for New Nigeria (FANN), reteriated the determination of FANN, to carry out the advocacy door to door to make sure Nigerians are educated on the possible ways to live among ourselves in peace, unity and with love of one another. That is exactly what the late Political Icon lived and preached untill his death and that is the only way to go for this nation if we must reclaim our lost glory, “he said.
However, Hon. Charles lamented the level of decay in Nigeria’s political land scape, saying that Nigerian politicians have deviated from the purposeful ideals for good governance and sustainable nationhood, he promised to salvage the country that has drifted from rescuing the people and country, and are more concentrated on self aggrandized mission to plunder the nation.
Meanwhile, he pledged that his foundation will collaborate with the organisers of the event, Coalition of Northern Progressive Movement with membership in 19 Northern States and FCT, in conjunction with, Nigerian Women of Integrity (An NGO) for subsequent editions of the Aminu Kano Lecture and Awards ceremony.
Hajia Aminat, the daughter of the late sage, appreciated the recognition of his father and the immortalization of his name. She told the the press that her father was an embodiment of love and unity and fought for the course of the poor “
