POLICE ARREST FOUR CAR- SNATCHING SYNDICATES IN LAGOS.

Làgos State Police Command has arrested suspected car snatching syndicates suspected to be behind carjacking in Làgos State.

In a statement by the Lagos State Police PRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the Police Command has arrested suspected car snatchers terrorizing some communities in Làgos which included the following Iba, Igando and Egbeda axis of the state.

The Lagos state police PPRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, in the statement made available to the press on Saturday, stated that the male suspects were arrested by detectives around the Igando community of the state.

The suspects were identified as Victor Chibuike, 26, aka Azaman; Kingsley Ndubuisi, 33, aka kango; Augustine James, 29, aka Edo boy, and Lateef Babatunde, 33.

Benjamin revealed that the arrest was made following an investigation launched after receipt of an intelligence  report on August 7 that criminal elements hijacked a 2010 Lexus RX 350 SUV, 2006 Toyota Camry saloon car, an iPhone and other valuables at gunpoint.

The PPRO, stated further that the police made some recoveries during the operation from  the gang which were, “Three locally made pistols, one locally made semi-automatic pistol and 12 live cartridges.

According to Hundeyin, “Investigations reveal that the suspects were notorious for robbing their victims of their valuables and vehicles along the Iba-Igando-Egbeda axis of Lagos State. Efforts are ongoing to arrest their receivers of stolen goods, and possible recovery of other items stolen by the gang in the past. Suspects will be arraigned at the end of investigation.” He stated.
